This chapter, "Jesus' View of Women," is taken from my 2003 book, On Jesus, originally published by Wadsworth, but now long out of print. I hope to release a revised and updated version of this book within a few years with InterVarsity Press. Given the controversy over women in the pastorate and Christian ministry in general, we should carefully consider Jesus' actions and teachings on this--of course within the context of the whole Bible. - Dr. Douglas Groothuis
