As I was combing through papers, I found an issue of the Denver Seminary magazine called Focal Point dedicated to its recently-deceased President Clyde McDowell. I wrote a piece called, "Clyde McDowell and the Mysteries of Providence." President McDowell only served three years (1996-1999) and died at age forty-nine, yet God brought him to Denver Seminary at a crucial time when a renewed vision was needed. Clyde was a godly man and a great leader. I miss him. - Dr. Douglas Groothuis
